The Avalokitesvara festival is considered to be one of the Vietnam’s 15 most impressive tourism festivals. It is held annually on February 19 lunar month (around the calendar month April) at Quan The Am (Avalokitesvara) pagoda amongst the Marble Mountains landscape.

The Avalokitesvara festival includes religious ceremonies and festival activities, including a prayer ceremony, a candle-lit flower release, a Zen-tea exhibition, photo and painting exhibitions, calligraphy performances and boat races.

The Buddhist festival is held on lunar February 17-19, honoring Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva while praying for peace and prosperity.

The pagoda, built in 1957, is located at the foot of the Kim Son (Metal Mountain) in the Ngu Hanh Son (Marble Mountains with five element mountains) area.

Ngu Hanh Son area (Marble Mountains) is about 8km away from the city’s centre and is a wonderful natural landscape with several ancient pagodas, mysterious caves and picturesque scenery.
